An iconic Toowoomba-based business is expanding its operations on the Sunshine Coast, with plans to build a new cold storage facility at Chevallum Industrial Park.
Proudly operating in Toowoomba for over 45 years, Orchy Ice Coldstores has become a local institution, providing commercial beverage and ice supplies, cold storage facilities and catering.
Orchy Ice Coldstores Owner/Director, Jamie Ramia, said the Australian family owned company is looking forward to expanding its cold storage facilities to the Sunshine Coast in response to demand.
“Currently we deal with a few companies on the Sunshine Coast and talking to people it was evident that demand is there, especially for cold storage that offers pick up and drop off of pallets like we do,” said Mr Ramia.
“The additional space the Chevallum site offers us is a benefit, and it gives us an opportunity for a new build in establishing Sunshine Coast Coldstores.
“Large lot sizes are difficult to find. We purchased two lots, all up about 3,900m² – just under an acre.
“The central location is a big one too. We’ve got customers that will bring product to us at Chevallum [Industrial Park] from Brisbane.
“We’re hoping to be in by the end of the year, for the summer period.”
Colliers International, Senior Executive – Commercial Sales and Leasing, Ben Flower said Chevallum Industrial Park’s ideal location is attracting businesses to the Sunshine Coast.
“Chevallum Industrial Park is a major drawcard for end-users on the Sunshine Coast,” said Mr Flower.
“The proximity to the Bruce Highway, and central location, logistically allows end users to service the entire Sunshine Coast and hinterland.
“Ideally we would like to entice more businesses to the Sunshine Coast, and Chevallum Industrial Park is well suited to accommodate the type of demand we’re seeing.”
Centrally located and situated adjacent to the Bruce Highway, Chevallum Industrial Park provides an unmissable opportunity for easy access to Brisbane, the greater Sunshine Coast region and South East Queensland.
Master-planned and ready for a range of businesses including manufacturing, logistics, showrooms, commercial office space, storage and more, the Park offers a rare opportunity to secure large format sites.
